IS IT TOO LATE LATE TO PREPARE FOR UPSC EXAM LIKE IAS/IFS/IPS/IRS

Aspirants : UPSC 2015-16: Is it too late to start preparation for UPSC 2016 exams?

Well, you can start from any day you wish. But to be frank, its way better if you start it from today itself.
As you said, you are still planning to start it........which means you still are not clear with what you read and what you should skip.
There are many posts and suggestions on quora, I suggest you go through them and decide your action plan.
If you still have any query and doubts --> do ask, there are many helping hands here on this website including me.

Certainly not. Still around 120 days left, which is enough for preparing prelims. Just read the basic books -
1. Polity - Laxmikanth
2. Economy - Ramesh Singh
3. Geography - G.C.Leong + NCERT Class 11's India-Physical geography
4. History - NCERT class 12 books
5. Science - Web browsing, go through previous years questions
6. Environment - Same.

What are the best places and classes for UPSC preparation?
Your best class is your own self study however you will need to discuss with other aspirants with whom you can discuss and judge whether you are on the right track. Websites on this subject can also be of limited help but remember it is largely your own efforts with occasional course correction which will lead to success.

WHICH PLACE TO STUDY
Delhi is the best place for upsc coaching classes n preparation as it gives good environment 4 upsc n u will get actual upsc national competition feel.. but if u can't go to delhi still u can prepare at ur place bcoz when u r really passionate about ur goal place hardly matters..

WHEN TO START

It was during my IIT-JEE preparation days that, I had put similar question before one of my friend who has later got double digit rank in the exam. He said-

Its never too late to start.

I thought he is saying some dialogue of some movie. But now when I look back, I just think that - He was right in saying so.

Which is better for UPSC CSE preparation, reading NCERT books online or in print?
know what you mean. Or at least I think I do.
I stay at a place where state board has prominence over central board. Hence it is almost impossible to acquire NCERTs in my city. So I started reading them on PC. But I started taking out prints after 9th Std NCERT books.
Highlighting , note-making , jotting down thoughts , ease of revision and high degree of portability is the reason I prefer hard copies.

Tip : Take out chapter-wise print-outs. Organize them in some folder.

P.S - The cheapest way is to buy second-hand books from a stationery.
Hard copy is preferred more due to easyness in reading or highlighting.
As far as cost is concerned, you can get 2nd hand copies in market. Atleast  get hold of history, geography, economics ncerts as they cover most of the syllabus. Other books can be read from 'e' version free of cost.

Which software is very useful during IAS-UPSC preparation?

If you read through e-books, pdf files or doc files etc. then agent ransack (Agent Ransack - Free File Searching Utility) may help you alot.

It is a searching tool by which you can search any particular word like "karle caves" so it will return you all the files mentioning this word. I found it very useful for searching and all.

What would be a proper schedule for UPSC preparation?
I'll write the same thing I have told many times....
  1. There cant be single funda and single schedule. Everyone has his/her own strengths and weaknesses (like I am good at polity and weak in science)
  2. Even if Gaurav Agarwal come to you and tell his funda..trust me, you wont become IAS by following it.
  3. Similarly you have your own strong time (when you can concentrate more) and weak time (when you dont feel like studying) so develop your own schedule.
Know your strengths and weaknesses and work according to them but asUmang Mehta said set your weekly atleast, if not daily, and monthly targets and work on them.

PS- The most important thing....never leave today's Hindu on tomorrow.

There is no such schedule for any exam

It depends upon individual...

Some may understand a book in a week and some in a month.

Set small targets, try to achieve in your set time limit
